Our state’s modern and evolving workforce needs people with digital skills.
The Victorian Government’s $64 million Digital Jobs program will equip mid-career Victorians with up-to-date digital skills and place them in paid, short term digital roles with businesses.
Over the next four years, up to 5,000 mid-career Victorians will be supported to retrain and reimagine their career.
Helping businesses grow
The Digital Jobs program will support Victorian businesses seeking to build their digital capability or looking for workers with digital skills.
Businesses are invited to host motivated mid-career participants with specialised, up-to-date skills for a 12-week internship.
Prior to commencing their internship, each participant will have completed 12 weeks of industry-endorsed training in a specialised digital area such as web or software development or a broader digital field such as digital marketing.
A matching process will ensure businesses get the right, job-ready candidate for their needs.
For every candidate hosted, businesses will receive a subsidy from the Victorian Government.
Businesses can express their interest or register to host participants through Hudson Australia, with internships expected to commence from October 2021.
Supporting mid-career Victorians
Mid-career Victorians have a wealth of knowledge and experience, bringing essential skills and new perspectives into the workplace to help businesses grow and thrive.
We’re looking for Victorians over 30 years of age with experience and a strong work ethic with the motivation to study, expand their digital skills and transition into a digital-focused career.
Applications are invited from people of all backgrounds living anywhere in Victoria. We also encourage women looking to return to the workplace and anyone whose job may have been impacted by COVID-19 to apply.
Each participant will receive:
- 12 weeks of free tuition in a high-quality, industry-recognised digital course
- 12 weeks in a paid digital role with a Victorian business
- Ongoing support from a mentor throughout the program journey.
We’ll work with participants to find the right area of digital training for their interests and experience and upon completion, we’ll place them with a business to put those new skills to work.
Applications are now open through Hudson Australia.
Applications for the first round of participants have now closed. You can apply for future rounds at any time.
