What skills do I need before starting?

Digital Jobs caters for a range of skill levels, but all candidates will at least need to be confident using common computer programs and navigating the internet. Some courses may be better suited to you than others, depending on your digital skill levels.

Support from career coaches and technical mentors

We know that changing careers is a big step, so we’re providing every participant with suppport from a career coach and technical mentor who will support you throughout the program.

‘Digital skills’ refers to a wide variety of skills and knowledge that apply to computer-related roles in any business, no matter how small or large.

The high quality 12-week courses on offer will be delivered by a range of universities, TAFEs and private providers. The courses have been developed in partnership with industry, and selected by a panel of industry experts, to ensure they meet industry needs.

Some may have optional in-person lessons, offering further opportunities to engage with your peers.

This is an ongoing program with multiple intakes commencing in January, May and September each year, with our final round commencing in January 2024.

The courses run for 12 weeks. While some courses require a full-time commitment, others are designed to be flexible - enabling you to work and study at the same time. If you are selected for the program, we will discuss these options with you.

No.  This program is designed to help candidates transition into a new digital career with a new employer.

No. You’ll only be eligible for the paid job placement if you complete and pass your 12-week digital skills training course.

Yes, you’ll need access to a computer to complete the course.

You’ll receive recognised industry credentials that will help open up digital job opportunities for you across a range of industries, in both metropolitan and regional Victoria.

This is a competitive program with a limited number of positions available per intake.

All applicants will receive feedback on their strengths and development areas from your PredictiveHire interview. For unsuccessful applicants, we will provide details of some other avenues that you may wish to explore in your search for a new career path.
