Free Public WiFi Pilot
Victorian Free Public WiFi is the largest and most advanced free outdoor WiFi network of its kind in Australia.
Free public WiFi is improving connectivity for tourists and visitors to the Melbourne, Bendigo and Ballarat CBDs, and these pilots are being extended as part of the Connecting Regional Communities program (CRCP). New free public WiFi networks are planned for Shepparton and Geelong. Victoria's free public WiFi deployments are a combined effort of Victorian Government, local government, and industry.
The visitor economy and digital inclusion are two areas that benefit from free public WiFi enabling more people to be online to support their tourism, education and other activities.
New WiFi projects will be delivered in Shepparton and Geelong through the Connecting Regional Communities Program.
