Melbourne will be the centre of the global mining industry later this month when Australia’s biggest mining event, the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC), is held between 29 October and 1 November.

Last year’s event was attended by 4100 people and generated close to $8 million to the Victorian economy.

With over 6000 people expected to attend this year, and with more than 250 presentations scheduled, IMARC 2018 will be bigger and better, presenting unprecedented networking and business opportunities for all involved.

At the same time the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), representing 27 of the world’s largest mining and metals companies, will hold its bi-annual meeting in Melbourne. This will be the first time the meeting is to be held in the southern hemisphere.

Victoria is Australia’s largest exporter of mining equipment, technology and services and is home to many of the mining sector’s corporate headquarters. Hosting IMARC in Melbourne will showcase this fact, as well as highlighting our viability as a global mining hub.
