The public consultation period for the Regulatory Impact Statement on Christmas Day public holiday arrangements is now closed. The government will now review all submissions received.

This Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) was prepared to fulfil requirements of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994, and to facilitate public consultation on the proposed appointment of Christmas Day as a public holiday when it falls on a Saturday or Sunday, under the Public Holidays Act 1993.
The RIS has been prepared for the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources (the department) by Ernst & Young.
The Office of the Commissioner for Better Regulation has assessed the Regulatory Impact Statement.
