Science and Planning Graduate Program
The Science and Planning Graduate Program has been highly successful for over 20 years.
This is a two-year learning and development opportunity for recent science, planning and related graduates to launch their career.
Graduates strengthen a range of skills in opportunities across the department - including in metropolitan and regional Victoria. The program aims to provide and develop broad exposure to policy, research and engagement skills.
It will also enable graduates to gain specialist skills and experience that will support a sustainable career with the department.
Applications for the 2021 Science Graduate program are open until 10 August 2020. Please see information on the application process and frequently asked questions to assist with next steps.
"We have recruited an amazing science graduate to our branch and launched a bright public service career. The calibre of candidates offered through the program was extremely high. The program provides excellent recruitment and on-boarding support. Our science graduate has contributed enormously to our team in a short time and although we will miss her when she progresses onto her next rotation, we know she will be a valued asset to her next team. I would highly recommend recruiting a science graduate via this program." - Supervisor
"I am thoroughly enjoying my time as a graduate in the Science and Planning Graduate Program. In just four months I have already had many wonderful opportunities, including attending conferences, working with stakeholders and taking the lead on my own projects. The work is diverse and exciting, and I am truly supported by my team to develop new skills and knowledge. I would highly recommend this program to any science graduate!" - Graduate
